I am Preeya Gopaul, your Health and Safety Consultant based in Mauritius.
Specialist in UK Laws and Mauritius Laws; OSHA ACT 2005.
I started my professional career as a Nursing Officer. I successfully completed the Bsc.Hons in Occupational Health and Safety course at the prestigious University of National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), Leicester, UK and I am also a Graduate Member of the Institution Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
I have 10 years experience as Health and Safety Officer. I am a registered Health and Safety Officer at the Factory Inspectorate(OSHI), Registered Trainer in Occupational Health and Safety at the MQA and also have a valid food Handler Certificate.
I am providing my services as Health and Safety in the Offshore Companies, Aviation, Transport Company, Construction sites, Industry, Hotels Industry, BPO and Call Centers.

My services are:
- Carry out regular Health and safety audits to identify risks and hazards.
- Assess the need for preventive measures to safeguard the health and safety of employees and any other persons.
- Advise the employer in writing on practicable measures and appropriate techniques to be implemented to minimize any risk in any process.
- Assess the need for preventive measures to safeguard the safety and health of employees and any other person not in the employment of the employer.
- Provide professional advice, training & communications to ensure that employees at all levels understand their responsibilities and help them to conduct their activities in a safe manner.
- Design and implement appropriate training programmes to meet the requirements of OSHA 2005 and any other enactment dealing with occupational safety and health, and keep proper records thereof.
- Review any measure, method, procedure or technique adopted to ensure occupational safety and health and keep proper records thereof.
- Recommend in writing to the employer appropriate occupational safety and health programmes, where the circumstances so justify.
- Develop effective communication systems on occupational safety and health between the employer and any employee.
- Ensure that there is a proper inspection of all places at least every month and record the findings.
- Provide adequate supervision to ensure the effective implementation of arrangements made and preventive measures taken, by the employer.
- Ensure a process for two-way H&S communication is put in place with forums where relevant to ensure continued employee awareness. Ensure that a regular communication process is implemented to keep relevant parties updated on progress with H&S plans.
- Investigates incidents involving personnel, plant and equipment. Analyses causes and determines future action to prevent these occurrences.
